Bank Broker Production Fell In August

NU Online News Service, Oct. 6, 2003, 1:35 p.m. EDT – The productivity of brokers in banks fell to $23,002 in fees and commissions in August, from $29,416 in August 2002, reports the Bank Insurance and Securities Association, Wayne, Pa.

Productivity was down from $24,114 in July.

But productivity of licensed bankers jumped to $2,140 in August, from $1,782 in July and $1,934 in August 2002.

The licensed banker production gains helped increase the BISA bank broker-dealer revenue index to 130, the highest level since May 2002. BISA started the index with a benchmark level of 100 in 1998.
