NU Online News Service, July 31, 2003, 5:11 p.m. EDT – Bank broker-dealers were about as productive in June as they were in June 2002, according to the Bank Insurance and Securities Association, Wayne, Pa.

Bank investment reps who hold Series 7 retail licenses generated an average of $26,462 in gross commission revenues per month in June, down from $26,473 in June 2002, BISA says.

But the productivity of licensed bankers fell to $1,972 in monthly gross commissions, from $2,118.

Bank broker-dealer productivity figures began to show signs of turning around in the first quarter.

Average commission revenue for investment reps was down 6% and that of licensed bankers down 13%, but bankers said their customers were starting to accept more investment risk.
