NU Online News Service, July 3, 2003, 10:42 a.m. EDT – Allstate Corp., Northbrook, Ill., has agreed to be the exclusive sponsor of NBC's NBC Sports Update segment for the next 15 months.
NBC is showing the Allstate logo on the screen during the update segments, and NBC is mentioning Allstate while it displays the opening and closing update graphics.
The sponsorship deal took effect last weekend, during NBC's broadcast of the Wimbledon tennis tournaments.
The "Allstate NBC Sports Update" also will air during NBC's weekend broadcasts of Notre Dame football games, NASCAR stock car races, PGA Tour golf tournaments, Triple Crown horse races and other sporting events.
In 2004, the Allstate update will appear during the Summer Olympic Games in Athens.
