NU Online News Service, June 16, 2003, 3:35 p.m. EDT – Delaware Investments, Philadelphia, has introduced an R share class of funds aimed at small and midsize employers that use Delaware funds in 401(k) plans and other retirement savings plans.

Delaware has brought in outside money managers such as AIM and Janus to run the funds in the class, the company says.

The R share class is open to plan sponsors with $1 million to $10 million in plan assets. Plans with more assets already can buy shares in an A share class, and plans with less than $1 million in assets must put their assets in Delaware funds, Delaware says.

Delaware will compensate advisors who sell R shares with a trail commission equal to 0.50 percent of assets.

Delaware is a unit of Lincoln National Corp., Philadelphia.
