NU Online News Service, May 16, 2003, 12:08 p.m. EDT – Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, N.C., is reporting $62 million in net income for the first quarter on $761 million in revenue, up from $19 million in net income on $711 million in revenue for the first quarter of 2002.
North Carolina Blue ended the quarter providing or administering major medical coverage for 2.3 million, up from 2.2 million people a year earlier.
