NU Online News Service, April 25, 2003, 4:30 p.m. EDT – WellChoice Inc., New York, has promoted Gloria McCarthy to be executive vice president and chief operating officer.
McCarthy has been the company's senior vice president for managed care and managed services since 1997.
WellChoice also has promoted Grace Messina and Michael Galvin to handle the responsibilities of Kenny Klepper, senior vice president for systems, infrastructure and technology, who has resigned.
Messina, the company's chief information officer for enterprise systems, will handle companywide computer systems, and Galvin, the chief infrastructure officer, will handle the telephone systems, facilities and real estate, WellChoice says.
WellChoice is the parent company of Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield.
