NU Online News Service, April 16, 11:25 a.m. – Morningstar Investment Services, Inc., Chicago, says it has introduced six new managed investment portfolios. The investment research firm calls its new series Morningstar Managed Portfolios Focused Strategies and says the products will focus on investments within a specific area of the capital markets or that employ a particular specialized strategy.

"They can be used to gain more exposure to a specific market segment or to help diversify a portfolio that may be overly concentrated in one sector," Morningstar says.

Four of the portfolios in the series will concentrate on mutual funds that adhere to a specific style of investing, says Morningstar. The remaining two portfolios focus on different strategies–one for buying globally diversified equities and the other designed as a conservative retirement investment, the company says.
