NU Online News Service, March 11, 2003, 10:55 a.m. EST – Aetna Inc., Hartford, will be using software and equipment from Brix Networks Inc., Chelmsford, Mass., to verify and monitor the quality of its "voice over Internet protocol" network system, Brix says.
The VoIP system will give Aetna the ability to transmit ordinary voice telephone calls over an internal network based on Internet standards.
Brix says Aetna will be managing its VoIP system with help from the BrixWorx central site software system, the Brix Advanced VoIP Test Suite software system, and 70 Brix machines that measure network quality.
