Kairos Hires Team, Opens New York Subsidiary

MILAN, Italy (HedgeWorld.com)–Kairos Group continues to grow its alternative investment business, hiring four new executives to assist in the effort.

Stefano Prosperi and Michele Gesualdi, both formerly of Citco Fund Advisors, join Kairos Alternative Investment, which is the entity that specializes in hedge funds of funds. Their hiring follows the decision to bring in-house all research and management activities formerly handled in cooperation with Citco, a partnership that was formed in 1999 under Paulo Basilico.

While Ms. Gesualdi is working out of the firm's London office, Mr. Prosperi opened a Kairos subsidiary in New York on March 1 for its alternative investment management business.

Separately, Alberto Bellardi Ricci will be in charge of client management, focusing on Italian clients in a consolidation of the firm's Rome branch. Mr. Ricci was responsible for the private banking sector at Morgan Stanley's Milan office. Meanwhile in Milan, Chiara Bessi will be responsible for Kairos portfolio management and will support Angela Bellattato. Ms. Bessi joins from J.P. Morgan, where she was vice president of the private clients group in both Italy and London.

Kairos has 1.4 billion euros (US$1.5 billion) under management in alternatives, split between single-strategy hedge funds and funds of funds. In total the firm has 1.8 billion euros in assets under management.
