Marsh Agrees To Acquire Oliver, Wyman

NU Online News Service, Feb. 24, 12:31 p.m. – Marsh & McLennan Companies Inc., New York, has agreed to acquire Oliver, Wyman & Company, New York, through a merger and fold the financial-services strategy consulting firm into its own Mercer Inc. consulting unit.

The price of the deal and other terms were not disclosed.

Oliver, Wyman was founded in 1984. It now employs about 425 consultants and support personnel through offices in New York, London, Frankfurt, Madrid, Milan, Paris, Toronto and Singapore.

Marsh plans to call the combined consulting operation Mercer Oliver Wyman. The president will be John Drzik, who is now chairman of Oliver, Wyman, Marsh says.
