Young To Become Chairman Of Phoenix

NU Online News Service, Feb. 19, 4:53 p.m. – The Phoenix Companies Inc., Hartford, says Dona Young will become its chairman April 1.

Young, the company's president and chief executive officer, will succeed Robert Fiondella, the company's current chairman and former CEO, who is retiring.

Young, a lawyer, has been working for Phoenix since 1980. She became president of the company in 2000 and helped lead the company's effort to convert to a stock charter, from a mutual charter, in 2001.

Young has a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in political science from Drew University and a law degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law.
