NU Online News Service, Feb. 3, 9:31 a.m. – Conseco Inc., Carmel, Ind., has filed a Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization plan that calls for the company to give up its consumer finance operations and focus exclusively on the insurance business.
The bankruptcy court in Chicago has scheduled hearings on Conseco's efforts to sell its consumer finance unit and the adequacy of the disclosure statement accompanying the reorganization plan for March 5.
