Law Firm Hires Former Illinois Insurance Director

NU Online News Service, Jan. 29, 4:53 p.m. – Sonnenschein, Nath & Rosenthal, Chicago, a law firm, has hired Nat Shapo and four other lawyers for its insurance practices.

Shapo recently resigned from a position as the Illinois insurance director. He served as an officer of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners, Kansas City, Mo., and he helped write the NAIC's Statement of Intent for the Future of Insurance Regulation.

Shapo has a bachelor's degree and a law degree from the University of Chicago. He will be a partner in Sonnenschein's Chicago office.

The other lawyers hired are Kenneth Schnoll, Thomas McDonald, John Finston and Sanford Kingsley. They previously practiced with the San Francisco office of LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae L.L.P. and they will be partners in Sonnenschein's San Francisco office.
