NU Online News Service, Dec. 3, 1:34 p.m. – Tennessee has picked MedAmerica Insurance Company, Rochester, N.Y., to develop, insure and run an optional, member-paid long-term care insurance plan for the state's 70,000 public employees and retirees.
MedAmerica, which won the contract through a competitive bidding process, already runs similar programs for public employees and retirees in New York, North Carolina, Indiana, Kansas and Hawaii.
The Tennessee plan covers long-term care services provided by nursing and assisted living facilities, home health care agencies, adult day care centers and hospice programs.
