HONG KONG (HedgeWorld.com)–James Shipton joined Eurekahedge Advisors as director, advisory services and will be in charge of a new due diligence service and will assist in an emerging manager program in Asia. Mr. Shipton was the head of transaction management for Dresder Kleinwort Wasserstein in Asia and a vice president of its European equity execution group.

In July, the firm launched a benchmark index with ABN AMRO for Asian hedge funds offering a new gauge for Asia Pacific hedge fund performance. (Previous HedgeWorld Story) The new index measures the performance of open-ended funds with at least US$40 million under management. It is divided into two sub-indexes: Asia Pacific and Japan.–SLB

Highfields Hires Saitowitz as Analyst

BOSTON (HedgeWorld.com)–The multi-strategy hedge fund manager Highfields Capital Management LP, which manages US$4 billion in hedge funds, recently hired analyst Gavin Saitowitz, a graduate of the Harvard Business School.

Jonathon Jacobson, formerly an investment officer with the Harvard Management Co., which oversees Harvard University's endowment, and Richard Grubman founded the Highfields in 1998. The firm manages roughly US$1 billion of the university's endowment assets.–PG
