Ceres Reports 2nd Quarter Net Loss

NU Online News Service, Aug. 13, 1:49 p.m. – Ceres Group Inc., Cleveland, is reporting a $3.8 million net loss for the second quarter on $175 million in revenue, compared with $711,000 in net income on $176 million in revenue for the second quarter of 2001.

Ceres, which sells dental insurance, life insurance, annuities, long-term care insurance and Medicare supplement insurance, says products aimed at seniors did well in the second quarter, although the performance of some other operations was disappointing.
