PacifiCare Names Health Services VP

NU Online News Service, July 19, 1:25 p.m. – PacifiCare Health Systems Inc., Cypress, Calif., has promoted Dr. Linda Vorvick to the newly created position of vice president of health services for PacifiCare's northwest markets.

Vorvick will be responsible for disease management, quality improvement, utilization and case management, hospital review, credentialing and appeals for PacifiCare's northwest markets, which serve 230,000 commercial and Medicare plan members in Oregon and Washington.

Vorvick will work in PacifiCare's Mercer Island, Wash., and Lake Oswego, Ore., offices.

Vorvick previously was a PacifiCare medical director. She joined the company in 1999 as an associate medical director.

Before Vorvick joined PacifiCare, she was the regional medical director at Medalia HealthCare L.L.C., Everett, Wash. She also spent 11 years working as a family physician.

Vorvick has a bachelor's degree in chemistry from the University of Chicago and a medical degree from the University of Washington. She completed her internship at Providence Medical Center in Seattle.
