Allstate Names New Investment Officer

NU Online News Service, July 15, 4 p.m. – The Allstate Corporation, Northbrook, Ill., has appointed Eric A. Simonson to the position of senior vice president and chief investment officer effective July 29. He will also assume the position of president, Allstate Investments LLC. He will replace Casey J. Sylla, who has served as Allstate's acting CFO following the retirement of former CFO John Carl.

Simonson comes to Allstate from John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Company, Boston, where his responsibilities included investment policy and strategy, asset and liability management, asset allocation and general account portfolio management.
