Parsons To Become StanCorp CEO

NU Online News Service, May 13, 4:45 p.m. – StanCorp Financial Group Inc., Portland, Ore., says Eric Parsons will succeed Ron Timpe as chief executive officer at the end of the year.

Parsons, who has been the company's chief financial officer, will take the titles of president and chief operating officer immediately.

Timpe, now the chairman and CEO, will keep the title of chairman even after Parsons becomes CEO.

In related news, StanCorp has named Doug Maines executive vice president of StanCorp and president of the employee benefits division at StanCorp's Standard Insurance Company subsidiary.

Maines has been running the benefits division as a senior vice president since 1998.
