NU Online News Service, April 23, 12:15 p.m. – Robert W. Davis & Associates Inc., Chandler, Ariz., is using comparisons with the new Federal Long Term Care Insurance Program to market its Web-based Long-Term Care Quote quote service.

The U.S. Office of Personnel Management recently picked a consortium formed by MetLife Inc., New York, and John Hancock Financial Services Inc., Boston, to sell voluntary coverage to active federal employees, military personnel, dependents and retirees.

Davis has issued a widely distributed press release pointing out that the federal government is not providing the insurance, subsidizing the premiums or guaranteeing the benefits.

Individuals in good health will probably get better rates if they shop for coverage on their own, using services such as the Long-Term Care Quote quote service, the company argues in its release.
