NU Online News Service, Jan. 28, 11:18 a.m. – Allmerica Financial Corp., Worcester, Mass., has awarded Keane Inc., Boston, a seven-year contract to develop and manage Allmerica property-casualty administration software.
Allmerica previously awarded a Keane a contract to develop its variable annuity administration software and support its corporate operations software.
Keane has agreed to get the staff it needs to handle the p-c contract by hiring 139 information systems employees from Allmerica offices in Worcester and Howell, Mich. Some of the former Allmerica employees will continue to work on Allmerica projects, but others will work for other Keane clients, Keane says.
Once the agreement takes effect, Keane will have about 8,000 employees.
