Gasper Named Chairman Of ACLI Board

NU Online News Service, Nov. 12, 1:06 p.m. – The American Council of Life Insurers, Washington, says its board elected Joseph J. Gasper chairman today at an annual conference in Boston.

Gasper is president of Nationwide Financial Services Inc., Boston. He joined Nationwide in 1966 as a group underwriter and took over as president in 1996.

Gasper is a past chairman of the National Association of Variable Annuities, Reston, Va., and the current president of the Association of Ohio Life Insurance Companies, Columbus, Ohio. He is also a member of the board of the Insurance Marketplace Standards Association, Washington, and the board for the American College, Washington.

Gasper succeeds Seymour Sternberg, chairman of New York Life Insurance Company, New York. Sternberg will now fill the post of immediate past chairman of the ACLI board.
