NU Online News Service, Nov. 7, 11:09 a.m. – The Society of Actuaries, Washington, will present a seminar on strategies for alternative distribution Dec. 6 and 7 in Orlando, Fla.
The seminar, "Faster, Cheaper, Better: Effective Risk-Appraisal Strategies for Alternative Distribution" will deal with underwriting methods for life insurance products and related products sold through channels such as banks, the Internet and telemarketers.
Thomson Management Solutions Inc., Brimfield, Mass., will help SOA run the seminar.
Besides representatives from Thomson, the faculty will include Kathleen Elzeer, director of underwriting at ING Groep N.V., Amsterdam; Mary Fernald, chief underwriter at Scottish Re, Charlotte, N.C.; and Hank George, a senior vice president at LabOne Inc., Lenexa, Kan.
