UnitedHealth Starts Health Technology Consultancy

NU Online News Service, Oct. 2, 3:35 p.m. – UnitedHealth Group Inc., Minnetonka, Minn., a managed care company, is working with two other large companies to start Xceleron Health L.L.C., Montvale, N.J., a health care technology development company.

The company will help small, high-tech companies organize their operations and upgrade their technology so that they can work with large customers and business partners.

The other partners in the venture are Merck-Medco, a subsidiary of Merck & Company Inc., Whitehouse Station, N.J., and Accenture, Chicago.

Xceleron will start by helping a company that is trying to reduce the amount of red tape involved with bringing a physician into a managed care provider network.
