NU Online News Service, Sept. 25, 10:22 a.m. – New York Gov. George Pataki says life insurers licensed to do business in New York should accept uniform affidavits in lieu of death certificates on claims resulting from the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
"Many of this nation's families have undergone immense personal losses due to the World Trade Center, Pentagon and Pennsylvania disasters," Pataki said in a statement. "As families of victims begin to go through the painful process of filing life insurance claims, we will continue to do everything we can to prevent additional hardships on those who have lost loved ones."
