New York Set Up Attack Claims Center

NU Online News Service, Sept. 24, 1:53 p.m. – The New York State Insurance Department has established an insurance service center at Pier 94 in Manhattan, at 52nd Street and 12th Avenue, staffed by representatives from many major insurance companies to help New Yorkers file claims related to the attack on the World Trade Center.

Officials from the department?fs consumer services bureau will be available to help with insurance-related questions.

Carriers participating include Allstate, Allianz, CNA?fs life companies, Continental, Guardian, Hartford, Kemper, Liberty Mutual, Nationwide, MetLife, New York Life, Prudential, State Farm, Travelers and USAA.

Officials say the spaces at the service center for insurers are now full. But officials are still taking applications from other insurers that are interested in participating.
