H. Kirke Lewis Wins JNR Award

H. Kirke Lewis is this years's winner of the John Newton Russell Memorial Award.

Mark Johnson, chairman of the 2001 John Newton Russell award committee, said, "We recognize him for epitomizing the ideals of our profession."

Lewis, a graduate of the University of Michigan, began his sales career with Massachusetts Mutual in 1959. There, he consistently ranked among the company leaders in both life and health sales. He has had a life and qualifying membership in the Million Dollar Round Table since 1969.

Lewis has held the office of president of his local CLU chapter, local and state underwriter associations, and was a founder of his local estate planning counsel. He served as president of the National Association of Life Underwriters from 1980-1981.

Lewis was also president of the Association of Health Insurance Advisors and chaired the Life Underwriting Training Counsel in 1985 and 1986.

He also played a key role in the creation of the LUTCF designation.
