NU Online News Service, Sept. 14, 10:17 a.m. – We at National Underwriter wish to extend our deepest sympathy and condolences to those who lost family members, friends or fellow workers in the tragedy that struck the United States last Tuesday. And our hearts go out to those families who at this writing still have no information on the whereabouts of their loved ones.
Many insurance firms had offices in the Twin Towers. Yet, for all the people who work in the industry, it is still a relatively small, closely-knit community, one based on working relationships that often transform into friendship. That being so, we all know people who worked in those buildings and are joined together in the sorrow of having lost friends.
The on the cover of this week's issue is like a bell that tolls for so many. For the firefighters, policemen and emergency workers who were first to the scene of the tragedy and lost their lives as the first tower collapsed.
For those who showed up for work on a Tuesday morning with no reason to believe it would be any different than most other days–and whose days on this earth are now ended.
