NU Online News Service, Sept. 11, 9:21 p.m. — The Kemper Insurance Companies, Long Grove, Ill, says it has set up catastrophe teams to handle claims resulting from the terrorist attacks made against the Manhattan World Trade Center complex, the Pentagon, U.S. airliners and other U.S. targets Tuesday.

Kemper is asking its customers fax workers' compensation claims, auto claims and general liability claims to 800-245-9927, and fax commercial property claims to 866-329-6657, to save time during the crisis.

But customers can still report workers' comp, auto and general liability claims by voice telephone at 800-7KEMPER, and commercial property claims to 866-536-7767.

"Our thoughts are with all of those affected by this catastrophic event," said William D. Smith, Kemper's president said in a statement. "We will continue to do everything we can to assist our employees, business partners and customers through this horrific tragedy."
