Sage Life Appoints Regional Veeps

NU Online News Service, Aug. 23, 10:54 a.m. – Sage Life Assurance of America Inc., Stamford. Conn., reported continued sales increases in its family of variable annuities and variable life insurance.

To support accelerating growth, it has hired two additional regional vice presidents.

Richard R. Goetz Jr. will assume responsibility as regional vice president in Sage Life's Upper Midwest region comprised of Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin, the company says. He will support investment professionals in regional broker/dealer, financial planning firms, banks and other financial institutions in the region.

Goetz had been with Salomon Brothers Asset management Inc., New York, as an assistant vice president, regional sales director since 2000, wholesaling variable products and mutual funds and, prior to that, vice president, wholesaler for Funds Distributor Inc., Boston.

Previously, Goetz held a variety of sales and marketing positions with other financial services firms. He earned a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, N.D.

Douglas M. Dorr will be representing Sage Life as regional vice president for the Mid Atlantic region and will cover Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia. In his prior role, Dorr was a senior investment consultant for PNC Brokerage, Pittsburgh, where he managed more than $30 million in client assets.

Previously, Dorr held positions in marketing, sales, and capital markets at various firms in the financial industry. He earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Miami University of Ohio, Oxford, Ohio.
