Insurance Investigator To Speak In Palm Springs About Suicide, Homicide And Life Claims

NU Online News Service, Aug. 23, 5:15 p.m. – Douglas Whiting, a Concord, Calif., insurance investigator, will discuss strategies life insurers can use to deal with homicides and suicides Sept. 10 at the annual seminar of the International Association of Special Investigation Units, Baltimore.

Whiting will talk about resources for investigating homicides and suicides, ethical issues, and procedures for preparing for court cases.

Whiting will also discuss examples of life insurance investigations of actual homicides and suicides.

Other sessions at the annual seminar will focus on recent court cases and regulatory changes affecting life and health claim investigations, and techniques for detecting fraudulent death, disability and medical claims.

The investigation units association is holding the seminar Sept. 9-13 at the Palm Springs Convention Center in Palm Springs, Calif.
