NU Online News Service, Aug. 17, 11:56 a.m. — YouZoom Insurance Services Inc., San Diego, has added a term life marketing service to YouZoom, its Web-based insurance marketing site, at http://www.youzoom.com

The site started by helping property-casualty agents sell automobile and home owners insurance online. Organizers are hoping the term life service will attract property-casualty agents who are interested in selling life insurance over the Web.

The term life policies have terms ranging from 10 years to 30 years. Coverage is available in all U.S. states but Hawaii, Massachusetts and South Dakota.

The underwriters are Protective Life and Annuity Insurance Company headquartered in Birmingham, Ala., a subsidiary of Protective Life Corp.; Empire General Life Assurance Company, Overland Park, Kan., another Protective subsidiary; and Transamerica Occidental Life Insurance Company, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, a member of the Transamerica Insurance and Investment Group.

The policies are serviced by Matrix Direct.

The carriers are using normal term life underwriting procedures to evaluate applicants. In most cases, the carriers will need to have the results of medical examinations before issuing coverage.

YouZoon is affiliated with Arrowhead General Insurance Agency Inc.
