NU Online News Service, Aug. 2, 10:05 a.m. – AMERIGROUP Corp., Virginia Beach, Va., says Kay Coles James has resigned from its board to become director of the Office of Personnel Management for the federal government. She reports directly to President George W. Bush.
James joined the AMERIGROUP board in 1999.
She previously served as the secretary of health and human resources for Virginia. Gov. George Allen appointed her to the position in January 1994.
James is a graduate of Hampton University in Hampton, Va.
