NU Online News Service, July 23, 2:05 p.m. – ViPS Inc., Baltimore, a health care software company, has teamed up with Evolutionary Technologies International Inc., Austin, Texas, to win a contract from Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, Newark, N.J.

Horizon will be analyzing information from its databases using MCSource, ViPS' medical management decision support system software, according to ViPS.

The project, which involves three years' worth of medical claims for more than 400,000 members, is scheduled to be completed by early summer.

Horizon says it picked the ViPS/Evolutionary team to help it analyze its data partly because it used Evolutionary's ETI EXTRACT software to build its database.

ETI EXTRACT automates the generation of all the code required to extract data from source systems, transform it and load it into target systems, ViPS says.
