Jackson National Names Jack Head Of Broker-Dealer Marketing Unit

NU Online News Service, July 12, 11:22 a.m. – Jackson National Life Insurance Company, Lansing, Mich., has promoted Clifford Jack to president of Jackson National Life Distributors, the company's broker-dealer marketing arm.

The distributors unit sells variable annuities, fixed annuities, equity-indexed annuities and life insurance.

Jack joined the distributors unit as senior vice president of marketing when it was created, in 1995.

When Jackson National began setting up and acquiring its own broker-dealers in 1998, Jack served as their president. For the past year, he has been the president of a Jackson National holding company that controls four separate broker-dealers: National Planning Corp., SII Investments, INVEST Financial Corp. and Investment Centers of America.

Jack will continue to run the holding company while he is president of the distributors unit, Jackson National says.

The previous president of the distributors unit was Michael Wells.

Jackson National has promoted Wells to vice chairman.

Wells will be responsible for overseeing Jackson National's wholesale and retail distribution operations and looking for opportunities for growth.

Wells joined company in 1995 as president of the distributors unit. He helped design Jackson National's efforts to reach registered securities representatives. He also led the launch of the company's retail brokerage business and its variable and equity-indexed annuities.
