NU Online News Service, June 25, 3:25 p.m. – Oxford Health Plans, Inc., Trumbull, Conn., says it has launched Oxford USA, a new health insurance product designed to combine the company's New York metropolitan provider network with the national provider network developed by First Health Group Corp., Downers Grove, Ill.

The company created Oxford USA to address the specific health insurance needs of New York and New Jersey-based employers with employees outside the tri-state area, the company says. In the past two weeks, Oxford has rolled out this program to area brokers.

Out-of-area employees enrolled under Oxford USA will receive the same services as their New York and New Jersey colleagues, including access to health-related information and discounted health services programs. In addition, Oxford USA members have access to Oxford's Web site, (http://www.oxfordhealth.com) to conduct such health plan-related transactions as searching for a provider, obtaining health and benefit information and checking claims.

Oxford USA is the latest in a series of products and services the company has developed to meet the needs of tri-state area employers. Last year, Oxford introduced the Oxford Freedom Plan Metro series, which provides lower premium options for area small businesses.
