NU Online News Service, June 21, 11:45 p.m. – Healthaxis Inc., East Norriton, Pa., one of the first companies to try to sell supplemental health insurance products on the Web, says it is replacing its chairman.

James McLane, who joined the company as president Feb. 1, will succeed Michael Ashker as chairman July 1, the company says.

Healthaxis has reacted to the shakeout in Web commerce over the past year by selling its Web sales operations and re-casting itself as a company that sells Web-based health insurance sales systems to health insurers and other payers.

Healthaxis says Ashker will remain as a director of the company while pursuing other entrepreneurial interests.
