NU Online News Service, June 14, 3:30 p.m. – Infertile couples and advocates for insurance coverage for infertility diagnosis and treatment have been gathering in Trenton, N.J., to show their support for passage of the Family Building Act (A.1862, S. 1076) by the New Jersey General Assembly, according to RESOLVE, New Jersey, Warren, N.J.

The bills would require medical insurers to provide coverage for medically necessary expenses incurred in the diagnosis and treatment of infertility, RESOLVE says.

A. 1862 is sponsored by Assemblymen Neil Cohen, a Democrat, and Richard Bagger, a Republican.

An identical bill, S. 1076, is sponsored by Sens. Robert Martin, who are both Republicans.

S. 1076 passed the New Jersey Senate March 26.
