RBC Wealth Management says it has opened a branch office in Augusta, Georgia, as part of its Atlanta complex.
Gray Jackson, formerly of Morgan Stanley, has been recruited to head the office. As senior vice president, financial advisor, Jackson has managed $140 million in assets and produced more than $1 million in yearly fees and commissions, according to RBC.
"Georgia is an important market for RBC Wealth Management as we look to grow in the area, and the opening of the new branch will allow us to better serve the needs of our clients in this market," Chip Anderson, senior managing director of the Atlanta complex, said in a statement.
Meanwhile, Focus Financial Partners acquired its third international partner firm with the addition of MW Lomax of Melbourne, Australia. Australia is the largest funds management market in Asia Pacific, and broadens Focus's international presence beyond its relationships with firms in the U.K. and Canada, according to Focus.
Founding partners Nick Maikousis and Jon White have 54 years of combined experience; the two held senior management roles within the financial planning and insurance advisory sectors before establishing MW Lomax.
Over the past 14 years, they have grown the business through a combination of strategic transactions and organic growth. With offices in Melbourne and Sydney, MW Lomax currently has a staff of 55 full-time employees.
