Recruiting activity has picked up in the past week or so as the U.S. equity market enjoyed an upswing.

Steward Partners Global Advisory, an independent affiliate of Raymond James Financial Services (RJF) in Washington, welcomed Eric Beiley and his assistant, Ismael Robledo, from Morgan Stanley (MS).

Beiley has had more than $500 million in client assets and yearly fees and commissions of over $3.5 million. He is joining Steward in New York as the group expands its presence in New England.

Wells Fargo Advisors says it gained a new advisor team from Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BAC): The Holyszko Group of Wells Fargo Advisors, led by financial advisor Jason Holyszko and including financial advisor David Snider, has joined a branch in Saginaw, Michigan.

The team now reports to Anthony Thorpe, central Michigan complex manager. It manages about $165 million in client assets.

Three new complex managers are also on board at Wells Fargo, leading branches in the Houston and Dallas metropolitan areas and reporting to Kevin Kitchin, regional president for WFA's southwest region.

Ron Medaris and Chris Gerrish joined from UBS and will lead the Dallas and Fort Worth complexes, respectively; John McCauley, who joins from Deutsche Bank, will oversee the firm's Houston Galleria complex.

Other Moves

Two Merrill Lynch alumni have joined Snowden Lane Partners: Alex Arista, financial advisor, and Juan Carlos Moreno, private banking and lending specialist.

Arista joins Snowden Lane's LDR International Group, headed by Rick Leyva, partner and managing director, while Moreno joins the firm's corporate team and reports to Greg Franks, managing partner and president. Both will work in the firm's San Diego office.

Rochester, New York-headquartered LVW Advisors has brought in Gary Sinderbrand as a partner. Sinderbrand will be located in the firm's New York office.

With more than 25 years of industry experience, Sinderbrand spent most of his career at Merrill Lynch. Most recently, he founded Betterpath, a health care information technology company.

RBC Correspondent Services and RBC Advisor Services, divisions of RBC Capital Markets, recently announced that Michael Belkin has come on board as a business development manager. With more than 30 years of industry experience, Belkin joins from First Clearing.

New York-based RIA Sontag Advisory brought in David Kelman as a senior advisor. Kelman was most recently managing director at Convergent Wealth Advisors; earlier he held senior-level positions at Next Capital Management, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Credit Suisse First Boston and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette. More Exec Changes

At U.S. Trust, a division executive has seen his role expand while an art executive has joined the firm. Mark Benson, west division executive, has also been named the head of the central south division. He will continue to be based in California but will now also oversee the Texas market.

Benson will also be overseeing the firm's new art banking initiative — a move seen as a critical growth area for the firm — that is to be led by Evan Beard, the firm's new art executive. Beard was the U.S. art and finance leader for Deloitte LLC and a strategy consultant in the private banking group at Deloitte Consulting for four years.

Independent advisory firm Summit Trail Advisors welcomed Thomas Harms as its chief operating officer, based in its New York office. Harms will report to Jack Petersen, managing partner.

Harms previously worked at Fidelity Investments as a senior vice president in the practice management and consulting group. Prior to that, he worked as a managing director and global operational risk officer at Morgan Stanley's global wealth management division from 1986 to 2011.

DuPont Capital Management announced the promotions of Jeffrey Fasino, A. Corey Mayo and William Perrone. Each will be responsible for a dedicated sales territory and will report to Tim Sweeney, managing director, business development and client service, in their new sales roles.

Fasino, who previously managed the firm's marketing department, will be responsible for New Jersey and the southwestern U.S. Prior to joining, he held various marketing and client service roles at Delaware Investments.

Mayo, previously an associate on the marketing and business development team covering small institutional plans, will have responsibility for the West Coast, upper Midwest and Asia. Prior to joining the firm, Mayo was a client service associate with CenterSquare Investment Management, and also held marketing and client service roles with Delaware Investments.

Perrone was previously a marketing analyst for the firm. He will focus on upstate New York and the central southern U.S. Before joining, he held various marketing roles with Echo Point Investment Management and the Vanguard Group.
