Five advisors from the wirehouses and other firms joined Ameriprise over past few weeks with roughly $400 million in client assets.
In the independent channel, Scott Husnick joined in November from Raymond James (RJF) in Amery, Wisconsin, where he managed $143 million; Buzz Minton left LPL Financial (LPLA), also in November, joining Ameriprise in Altoona, Wisconsin, with about $72 million; and in the same month Frederic Woloshin in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, left Janney Montgomery Scott to come on board, with roughly $71 million.
In October, Josh Shepherd, formerly of UBS (UBS), where he managed $68 million, joined the employee channel of Ameriprise, as did Gary Whittaker, formerly of Stifel Financial (SF) in Jacksonville, Florida, where he managed $61 million.
Meanwhile, Elliot Weissmark left Wells Fargo Advisors (WFC) to go to the employee channel of Raymond James in Weston, Florida. Weissmark manages $125 million in client assets and has about $1 million in yearly fees and commissions.
"I was drawn to Raymond James' open architecture. The firm provides guidelines and support, but trusts its advisors to make decisions based on what's best for their business and their clients," the veteran advisor said in a statement.
