New products and changes introduced over the last week include a fund from Exceed Investments; a SPDR ETF from SSGA; and an advisor proposal generator from AdvisoryWorld.

Also, New York Life Investment Management completed its acquisition of IndexIQ; North Capital Private Securities partnered with OneVest; and Matthews Asia announced plans to reopen the Matthews Asia Dividend Fund.

Here are the latest developments of interest to advisors:

1) SSGA Adds SPDR ETF

State Street Global Advisors (SSGA) has announced the launch of the SPDR MSCI Quality Mix USA ETF (QUS), which provides broad U.S. equity exposure in a portfolio weighted toward attributes that have historically delivered an attractive long-term risk-return profile.

QUS seeks to track the performance of the MSCI USA Quality Mix A-Series Index. The index is an equal-weighted combination of the MSCI USA Value Weighted, MSCI USA Minimum Volatility and MSCI USA Quality Indexes in a single multi-factor index to represent the performance of quality, value and low-volatility strategies. As of February 27, the index was comprised of 631 large and mid-cap companies across the U.S. markets.

2) Exceed Investments Launches Fund

Exceed Investments has announced the launch of the Exceed Structured Shield Index Strategy Fund (SHIEX, SHIIX), which seeks specific levels of protection and participation with the aim of achieving a conservative exposure to the S&P 500.

The fund tracks the Nasdaq Exceed Structured Protection Index (EXPROT), a large-cap-based index targeting an annual 87.5% protection against downward moves (seeking to limit losses to 12.5%) and upside participation of up to roughly 15%.

3) AdvisoryWorld Launches Advisor Proposal Generator

AdvisoryWorld has announced the release of its advisor proposal generator application, which creates risk profiles for financial advisors' current and prospective clients, aids in construction of risk-adjusted model portfolios, builds proposals and investment policy statements for financial advisors' clients and prospects, and allows for straight-through-processing to new account creation.

Functions included in the application are a risk profile questionnaire; a recommended allocation; recommended and current portfolio side-by-side analysis; customized proposal; and straight-through processing.

4) New York Life Investment Management Completes IndexIQ Acquisition

New York Life Investment Management has announced the completion of its acquisition of IndexIQ.

IndexIQ's products will be distributed and marketed through New York Life's MainStay Investments platform.

5) North Capital Private Securities Partners with OneVest

North Capital Private Securities (NCPS), which focuses on the origination and distribution of private placements, has announced that it has partnered with startup investing marketplace OneVest.

NCPS will provide broker-dealer services for the OneVest platform and will syndicate OneVest's early-stage investments on 99Funding, a marketplace for broker-vetted private offerings. NCPS also plans to distribute the OneVest offerings through its wholesale network of independent broker-dealers and registered investment advisors.

6) Matthews Asia to Reopen Fund

Matthews Asia has announced that it plans to reopen the Matthews Asia Dividend Fund (MAPIX) at the end of the month.

MAPIX was closed to most new investors in June 2013, in response to a rapid increase in the pace of inflows. Slower inflows and structural changes in Asia's equity markets have led to the decision to reopen the fund.
