Cathy Liston to lead Pru disability claims operations

Prudential Financial Inc. (NYSE:PRU) has hired Cathy Liston be chief operating officer for disability at its Prudential group insurance business.

Liston will oversee disability claims, absence management and support activities, the company says.

The Prudential group insurance business writes group long-term disability insurance and group short-term disability insurance. 

Liston previously was vice president of disability and leave management at Aetna Inc. (NYSE:AET), and she also has been vice president of disability at Unum Group Corp. (NYSE:UNM).

At Aetna, Liston helped run a unit that was promoting integrated disability and leave-of-absence claim services.

Andrew Sullivan will continue to be senior vice president of disability and small markets business at the Prudential group insurance unit.

Liston has a bachelor's degree in mathematics and Spanish from Colby College.
