Genworth Financial Inc. has put out a new book on the prospects for long term care in America, written by about a dozen experts in the field.

The book, The Future of Long Term Care in America, covers America's current LTC system and the issues the system will face as the 78 million baby boomers age.

Genworth, Richmond, Va., timed the release to coincide with Long Term Care Awareness Week, which started Sunday.

The goal is to get more people to plan for the chance that they or members of their family could ultimately need long term care, according to Buck Stinson, president of Genworth's LTC insurance division.

Among the contributing authors are Bill Novelli, chief executive of AARP, Washington, and Douglas Holtz-Eakin, former director of the Congressional Budget Office.
